Best NBA Finals Game 5 Player Prop Bets

The Larry O’Brien Trophy will be in the Mile High City for Game 5 of the 2023 NBA Finals when the Denver Nuggets look to close out the series against the Miami Heat.

With oddsmakers listing the Nuggets as 8.5-point favorites for tonight’s game, there is a strong likelihood this will be the last NBA game until October.

As such, we might as well go out with a bang with our four favorite player props from Game 5.

Let’s dive in!

Jamal Murray OVER 8.5 Assists

Before the NBA Finals began, Jamal Murray was tabbed as a +4200 longshot to lead the NBA Finals in assists.

Well anyone that took that prop bet is probably feeling (to borrow from one Larry David) pretty, pretty, pretty good entering Game 5 of this series.

That’s because Murray has 42 assists through the first four games, 10 more than likely NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic.

Murray’s distribution of the rock has caused his assist total on the player prop market to also climb all the way to 8.5 for tonight’s Game 5.

With Denver’s first NBA-title a single victory away, we anticipate that once again Jamal will be looking to get his teammates involved, working the pick-n-roll game with Nikola Jokic flawlessly as the Heat defense scrambles to try to slow the Nuggets down.

And while this isn’t listed as a “Best Bet” for tonight’s game, we also like Jamal to notch his 5th double-double of the Finals at +150.

Best Odds: FanDuel (+102)

Bam Adebayo OVER 19.5 Points

There are many reasons why the Heat are on the brink of elimination in this series, but Bam Adebayo is not one of them.

Bam has scored 20 points or more in all four games of this series and barring a major shift in defensive philosophy taking place, Bam figures to be in line for another 20+ points tonight in the possible series finale.

Where this prop may make us feel a little uneasy is if the Nuggets blow the doors off the Heat early and we see the end of the bench guys play out the season before the confetti rains down at Ball Arena.

But considering Bam has topped this mark in six of his last seven games against the Nuggets dating back to last season, we’re going to continue to ride the hot hand and hope the Heat can keep this game respectable throughout.

Best Odds: BetMGM (-120)

Michael Porter Jr. OVER 5.5 Rebounds

While Michael Porter Jr. has been colder than the mountains on the bottles of Coors Light Nuggets’ fans will be downing like water in Game 5, he has excelled in one area.

Rebounding.

Maybe his 3-for-22 shooting from downtown has helped MPJ figure out where missed shots are going, but whatever he’s doing, its worked, as he’s topped 5.5 boards in three of four games this series and in eight of his last 10 games overall.

Fortunately the Nuggets haven’t really needed his offense in this series, but his length and versatility have given Heat role players a lot of trouble in getting going.

We like MPJ to use his size advantage to grab a couple of offensive rebounds and to disrupt the smaller Heat role players to carry him to another rebounding prop win tonight.

Best Odds: FanDuel (+102)

Caleb Martin OVER 14.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

After being one of the heroes in the Eastern Conference Finals, Caleb Martin had a rough start to the NBA Finals with poor performances in the first two games of the series.

He’s since put those two games behind him, and while he hasn’t been the terror he was against the Celtics, he’s done enough to top his PRA line in the last two games.

The key to Martin hitting this number appears to come with how long Martin can stay on the floor.

Martin only played 24 minutes in Game 1 and 21 minutes in Game 2, but in playoff games where he’s been on the floor for at least 25 minutes he has topped 14.5 PRA in 16 of Miami’s 18 playoff games.

Tyler Herro’s probable return in Game 5 should chew more into the minutes of Max Strus and Duncan Robinson than Caleb Martin, and we anticipate he will be on the floor long enough in this one to top this PRA mark once again.

Best Odds: BetMGM (-120)
