This will be the third playoff game between Josh Allen’s Bills and Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs.

Mahomes is 2-0 in the previous two meetings, so Allen will look to get past one of the biggest obstacles of his young career.

Remember the last playoff meeting between these two?

Mahomes led Kansas City’s offense 44 yards downfield in 13 seconds to set up a game-tying field goal.

In overtime, the Chiefs won the coin toss and scored a touchdown on their first possession in OT, and Allen and the Bills never even stepped on the field after the end of regulation time.

Seems like a defenseless way to lose a ball game, but those are the rules.

That surely puts a lot of weight on “heads or tails”.

Speaking of coin tosses, let’s toss a couple of coins at this matchup in a Same Game Parlay on DraftKings.

Josh Allen – OVER 42.5 Rushing Yards and Anytime Touchdown

The Chiefs’ defense has been aggressive at getting after the quarterback this season, pressuring QBs in 35% of their dropbacks (3rd in NFL).

When the pocket gets a little crowded, Allen will escape with his wildly dependable legs.

In the regular season, Allen averaged 6.5 carries and 30.8 rushing yards per game, but later in the season, he began to attempt more runs.

Over his last six games of the regular season, Allen averaged 9.7 carries for 43.8 rushing yards.

Allen’s rushing success appears to have carried over into the postseason.

The Chiefs and Bills met at Arrowhead Stadium back in Week 14, and Allen picked up 32 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Four weeks after that game, Kansas City’s defense allowed Los Angeles Chargers’ backup quarterback Easton Stick to run for 77 yards.

We don’t need 77 yards here, but clearly, 43 rushing yards for Allen is within reach.

Pick: Allen – OVER 42.5 Rushing Yards (-115) DraftKings

Pick: Allen – Anytime Touchdown (-115) DraftKings

James Cook – OVER 17.5 Receiving Yards

The last time these two teams met back in Week 14, Cook had a very effective performance, running 10 times for 58 yards and catching five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.

When the Chiefs pressure QBs as often as they do, that can cause Allen to look for more short-range checkdown passes, which should benefit Cook’s receiving numbers.

Cook collected at least 18 receiving yards in nine of his 17 games this season, which is only 53% of his games.

On the other side, the Chiefs allowed a running back to record at least 18 receiving yards in eight of 17 games this season, which is only 47.1% of games.

18 receiving yards for Cook is not a lot by any means, but it still feels like a 50-50 shot here.

Even BestOdds EDGE projects Cook to have right around 17.5 receiving yards.

That big green bar in the middle, representing the 83 receiving yards Cook collected against Kansas City in Week 14 has me believing he can go over 17.5.

Cook will be Allen’s safety valve this week.

Pick: Cook – OVER 17.5 Receiving Yards (-120) DraftKings

Isiah Pacheco – OVER 60.5 Rushing Yards and Anytime Touchdown

Isiah Pacheco averaged 66.8 rushing yards per game this season, and he picked up at least 60 rushing yards in nine of 15 games played, including last week’s 89 yards performance against the Miami Dolphins.

Although the Bills’ defense is strong, its weakest point has to be stopping the run.

Buffalo’s rushing defense is ranked 15th in the NFL, allowing 110.3 rushing yards per game, but the most alarming number is yards per carry against.

The Bills allow 4.6 yards per carry, which is 28th in the NFL. Only four teams produced a worse yards per carry against, and all four missed the playoffs, Arizona (4.7), Cincinnati (4.7), New York Giants (4.7), and Denver (5.0).

If the Chiefs can get an early lead, Pacheco could have a boatload of carries in this one.

KC could grind down the clock and keep Allen and the Bills off the field once again.

Pick: Pacheco – OVER 61.5 Rushing Yards (-120) DraftKings

Pick: Pacheco – Anytime Touchdown (+115) DraftKings
