It’s the final week of the regular season, and with playoff-clinching scenarios being played out across the NFL, some teams will need more help than others to make the postseason.

For the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, the path to the playoffs is simple: win and you’re in.

Other teams need a bunch of random occurrences, including wins and losses, ties, kickers to shank kicks, a marriage certificate between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, butt fumbles, you name it.

Also, if the Jacksonville Jaguars lose to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, the outcome of this game on Saturday afternoon could crown the champions of the AFC South.

Bettors that believe Jacksonville will drop their game to Tennessee may want to take a swing on either the Texans or Colts to win the AFC South now, with Houston at +450 to win the division and Indianapolis sitting at +425 at DraftKings.

For this crucial Saturday matchup, I’ll place a Same Game Parlay on FanDuel.

C.J. Stroud – OVER 263.5 Passing Yards and OVER 1.5 TD Passes

This game is a big stage for a rookie QB, but C.J. Stroud has passed every test that has been thrown his way.

Among all QBs that have played at least 14 games, Stroud holds the NFL’s fifth-best passer rating (99.0). The five quarterbacks ahead of him: Lamar Jackson (102.7), Tua Tagovailoa (103.0), Dak Prescott (104.2), Brock Purdy (113.0).

Against the Indianapolis Colts middle-of-the-pack passing defense, Stroud should find some open receivers and move the ball downfield.

Even Aidan O’Connell of the Las Vegas Raiders collected 299 yards and two touchdown passes against the Colts last week.

Stroud played against Indy in his second career start, and in that game, the rookie tallied 384 yards and two touchdowns on 30 completions.

In a game with high-stakes like these, Stroud will put the Texans on his shoulders.

Pick: Stroud – OVER 263.5 Passing Yards (-114) FanDuel

Pick: Stroud – OVER 1.5 TD Passes (+102) FanDuel

Nico Collins – OVER 5.5 Receptions, OVER 75.5 Receiving Yards, and Anytime Touchdown

When Stroud recorded a big game against the Colts in Week 2, it was Nico Collins that assisted in that effort.

Collins finished his Week 2 showing against Indianapolis with seven receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown.

Collins was paired in a matchup with Colts’ cornerback Dallis Flowers in that game, and Flowers wilted.

This time around, it looks to be Indy cornerback Jaylon Jones shadowing Collins in Week 18.

Jones just allowed 13 receptions for 126 yards and two touchdowns to Davante Adams of the Raiders last week.

Jones is a beatable corner, and with Collins being Stroud’s top target, their should be plenty of targets between Stroud and Collins in Week 18.

Pick: Collins – OVER 5.5 Receptions (-114) FanDuel

Pick: Collins – OVER 75.5 Receiving Yards (-114) FanDuel

Pick: Collins – Anytime Touchdown (+115) FanDuel

Gardner Minshew – OVER 236.5 Passing Yards and OVER 1.5 TD Passes

Gardner Minshew started the season as a backup quarterback, looking up at rookie QB Anthony Richardson on the depth chart.

Since Richardson’s season-ending injury in Week 5, the Colts have gone 6-5. But Minshew also started for Indy in their win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, and he helped secure a victory over these very Texans in Week 2 in relief of Richardson.

Simply put, Minshew may not be the QB of the future for the Colts, but he’s their best option to win right now, and he’s proved it all season.

In Minshew’s limited sample against Houston in Week 2, he was wildly efficient, completing 19-of-23 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown.

The Texans haven’t faced any ‘elite’ quarterbacks in the last five games, except maybe Joe Flacco, and this is how those QBs fared against DeMeco Ryan’s defense.

HOU OpponentQuarterbackQB Results
Week 13: DenverRussell Wilson15/26, 186 Yds, TD, 3 INT
Week 14: New York (A)Zach Wilson27/36, 301 Yds, 2 TD
Week 15: TennesseeWill Levis17/26, 199 Yds, TD (rush) INT
Week 16: ClevelandJoe Flacco27/42, 368 Yds, 3 TD, 2 INT
Week 17: TennesseeRyan Tannehill16/20, 168 Yds

Between those five QBs, they completed 68 percent of their passes for an average of 244.4 yards and 1.2 touchdown passes per game.

Since Minshew officially took over the QB1 job in Week 6, he’s averaged 237.4 passing yards and 1.2 touchdowns per game.

Those numbers won’t wow anyone, but with Indianapolis’ season on the line, I’d expect Minshew to usurp those averages.

Sometimes, motivation is worth more than numbers.

Pick: Minshew – OVER 236.5 Passing Yards (-114) FanDuel

Pick: Minshew – OVER 1.5 TD Passes (+144) FanDuel

Michael Pittman – OVER 6.5 Receptions, OVER 75.5 Receiving Yards and Anytime Touchdown

If Minshew is going to succeed, Pittman will need to be targeted early and often.

No. 1 receivers have burned the Houston defensive secondary in the last two weeks, with DeAndre Hopkins of the Titans catching seven balls for 72 yards last week, and Amari Cooper of the Cleveland Browns producing a legendary performance in Week 16, reeling in 11 catches for 265 yards (Browns’ Franchise Record) and two touchdowns.

Stephen Nelson was the primary cornerback in coverage, and he’s been one of the weaker links in the Texans’ defense.

Pittman is averaging 73.9 yards per game, and in this matchup will be easier for Pittman than other weeks, so he should take advantage of this opportunity.

Pick: Pittman – OVER 6.5 Receptions (-138) FanDuel

Pick: Pittman – OVER 75.5 Receiving Yards (-114) FanDuel

Pick: Pittman – Anytime Touchdown (+170) FanDuel

I’m expecting lots of action through the air in this one.

Same game parlay is just like a regular NFL parlay bet, except all bet selections come from different wagers within one football game.

The benefit of an NFL same game parlay is achieved by combining multiple bets so you can go for bigger wins as the odds increase.

The more bet selections you add, the more difficult it is to win, but the odds also greatly increase so is the potential winning amount.
