The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens split their two matchups in 2022, with the Ravens winning Week 7, 23-20, and the Browns winning in Week 15, 13-3.

When Baltimore won the first meeting, Cleveland’s starting quarterback was Jacoby Brissett, and Brissett actually played pretty well. When the Browns won the second contest, Tyler Huntley was under center for the Ravens, and he did not play so well.

For the first time in this rivalry it will be Deshaun Watson vs. Lamar Jackson.

While both quarterbacks are healthy and playing for the first time as AFC North foes, each team will be down a star running back; no Nick Chubb for Cleveland and no JK Dobbins for Baltimore.

The Ravens have built historically great defenses, but it’s the Browns that currently sport the best defense in the NFL.

Cleveland is allowing just 111.7 passing yards per game (1st in the NFL), 52 rushing yards per game (2nd in the NFL), and 10.7 points per game (1st in the NFL).

With that in mind, I’m looking at the Browns to do some work on Sunday.

For this same game parlay, I’m placing my bet at FanDuel.

Deshaun Watson – OVER 226.5 Passing Yards (-114 FanDuel)

The Ravens defense has been hobbled by injuries, especially in their defensive secondary.

Safety Kyle Hamilton is questionable with a back issue, cornerback Marlon Humphrey has not been at practice with a lingering foot injury, and cornerbacks Trayvon Mullen and Damarion Williams are already declared out for the week.

Deshaun Watson should have plenty of open looks to his receiving corps this Sunday.

With Chubb extricated from this offense, more pressure will be applied to Watson to keep this offense moving.

Amari Cooper – OVER 65.5 Receiving Yards (-114 FanDuel)

With the offense now firmly in the hands of the quarterback, Cleveland’s receivers should see a boost in targets and numbers.

Amari Cooper is the top dog in the Dawg Pounds’ receiving unit, and should see plenty of looks in Week 4.

The Ravens have allowed at least 77 yards to an opposing receiver in the first three weeks.

Here’s a quick look at the leading receivers against Baltimore through Week 3:

  • Week 1 – Nico Collins (HOU): 6 catches, 80 yards
  • Week 2 – Tee Higgins (CIN): 8 catches, 89 yards, 2 TDs
  • Week 3 – Michael Pittman (IND): 9 catches, 77 yards

Based on target share and opposing defense, the over on Cooper’s 65.5 receiving yards is a reachable number.

Elijah Moore – OVER 44 Receiving Yards (-114 FanDuel)

Another interesting tidbit about this banged-up Ravens’ defense is that in each of the first three games they have allowed at least two receivers to collect at least 50 or more receiving yards.

Here is how secondary receivers have fared against Baltimore through three weeks:

  • Week 1 – Robert Woods (HOU): 6 catches, 57 yards
  • Week 2 – Tyler Boyd (CIN): 6 catches, 52 yards
  • Week 3 – Josh Downs (IND): 8 catches, 57 yards

While Cooper will probably see the most targets, Moore should see his fair share.

A pattern tells me that the Ravens’ defense is going to relinquish yards to secondary receivers, so I’ll follow that pattern into Week 4.

Kareem Hunt – Any Time Touchdown (+320 FanDuel)

After trying to find a job in another city, Kareem Hunt has found his way back to Cleveland.

In his first appearance of 2023, Hunt saw less carries than both Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong, but with a history in this franchise and under this coaching staff, I’d assume Hunt will be used more often moving forward.

Hunt carried the ball just five times for 13 yards against Tennessee last week, and showed his usually effective pass-catching abilities still exist, reeling in two passes for 22 yards.

The Ravens allowed Zack Moss of the Colts to bust their defense for 122 yards on 30 carries, and collect two catches for 23 yards and a touchdown in Week 3.

Hunt will not see 30 carries, but with an increase in workload, Hunt could find an opportunity to put the ball over the goal line in Week 4.

After seeing what Moss did last week, Hunt’s +320 value to find paydirt is a swing I’m willing to take.

Betting NFL Same Game Parlays

Same game parlay is just like a regular NFL parlay bet, except all bet selections come from different wagers within one football game.

The benefit of an NFL same game parlay is achieved by combining multiple bets so you can go for bigger wins as the odds increase.

The more bet selections you add, the more difficult it is to win, but the odds also greatly increase so is the potential winning amount.
