The Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers will meet at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for Sunday Night Football in Week 8.

The bright lights of primetime football should be nothing new for Chargers’ quarterback Justin Herbert.

For Bears’ quarterback Tyson Bagent, things could look quite different.

Bagent, an undrafted rookie QB out of Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, has had an intriguing path to the NFL.

After throwing for over 17,000 yards and 159 touchdown passes at the NCAA D-II level, Bagent went undrafted.

In his first career start under center for Chicago, Bagent and the Bears defeated the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7, 30-12; just about ten months after Bagent and Shepherd University lost to the Colorado School of Mines.

Life comes at you fast.

Money comes at you fast too, when constructing a profitable Same Game Parlay.

For this Sunday Night Football Same Game Parlay, I’m heading to FanDuel.

Tyson Bagent – ALT Passing Yards: 225+ (+205 FanDuel)

Bagent threw for just 162 yards in his first NFL start, but in his second start, he squares up against the NFL’s 32nd-ranked passing defense.

The Chargers’ defense has allowed an average of 310 passing yards per game, and Patrick Mahomes just shredded them for 424 yards and four touchdown passes.

Even quarterbacks that are far from the talent that Mahomes is have found success against LA’s defense.

In Week 2, Ryan Tannehill of the Titans completed 20 of 24 passes for 246 yards against the Chargers, and Aidan O’Connell of the Las Vegas Raiders totaled 238 passing yards in his NFL debut.

Bagent may have come from a small school, but being talented at football is a universal language, and that talent will translate on Sunday Night Football.

D.J. Moore – ALT Receiving Yards: 70+ (+128 FanDuel)

The Chargers allow a chunk of passing yards regularly, and with that comes large receiving totals.

Los Angeles has allowed at least two receivers to tally at least 60 or more receiving yards in five of six games, and even against a lower ranked offense such as the Bears, someone is bound to succeed.

D.J. Moore has gone over 100 receiving yards three times in seven games, even reaching 230 receiving yards in Week 5.

The other four games, Moore is averaging just 42.75 yards, so he’s a bit of a boom or bust candidate.

But when the matchup calls for it, I think he booms. Just as he did in Week 5.

Moore probably won’t collect 230 yards again, but he has a winnable matchup with Chargers’ cornerback Michael Davis, and with Chicago entering this game as +8.5-point underdogs on the spread, a potential negative game script should favor the passing game.

Cole Kmet – ALT Receiving Yards: 40+ (+194 FanDuel)

Los Angeles allows an average of 63.5 receiving yards per game to tight ends, and Cole Kmet should be targeted more often in this one.

Last week, Kmet totaled just three targets, but I’d expect to see him more often this week, with the Chargers most likely making this a more competitive game for the Bears than the Raiders did in Week 7.

Before Kmet’s two-catch, nine-yard clunker in Week 7, he was averaging 46.2 receiving yards per game, and as the second-most targeted option in the passing attack, I’d expect Kmet to reach a similar number.

Justin Herbert – ALT Passing Yards: 300+ (+220 FanDuel)

Herbert has not been posting the best numbers lately, averaging just 217.7 passing yards per game over his last three contests.

In Herbert’s first three games of the season, he averaged 313 passing yards per game, and facing the Bears’ 29th-ranked passing defense, this week’s matchup offers Herbert a chance to bounce back to his usually productive ways.

Chicago allowed 317 passing yards to Baker Mayfield in Week 1, and 388 passing yards to Sam Howell in Week 5, so Herbert posting 300+ yards in this game is not out of the question.

The Chargers are 8.5-point favorites, but if their defense continues to relinquish points, then Herbert will have to keep chucking it to better secure a victory, and at 2-5, a much needed victory for Los Angeles.

Keenan Allen – ALT Receiving Yards: 100+ (+182 FanDuel)

Keenan Allen is averaging over 10 targets a game, and barring an injury or a heavily lopsided score, I’d expect Allen to get 10 more looks again this week.

Allen has just two games this season where he reeled in over 100 yards, Weeks 2 and 3, against the Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans, respectively.

In the contest against the Vikings, Allen grabbed 18 of 20 targets for 215 yards, while he may not have to duplicate that effort, 100 yards is within reach.

Allen has a matchup with Bears’ cornerback Kyler Gordon, and Gordon has done a nice job shutting down some opposing receivers, but the numbers against him appear smaller based on a lack of passing volume by opponents in general against Chicago.

Gordon has continuously allowed at least 50 yards or more from his opposite receiver, but no receiver has received the volume of targets that Allen is accustomed to.

Allen will give Gordon his largest workload of the season on Sunday Night.
