The road to the NBA championship starts now, with the play-in tournament beginning tonight.

In the East, No. 7 Orlando hosts Southeast division rival No. 8 Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Kia Center.

In the West, No. 7 Golden State hosts No. 8 Memphis at 10:00 p.m. ET at the Chase Center.

We will provide two player props below for a pair of centers: The Grizzlies’ Zach Edey and the Hawks’ Onyeka Okongwu.

Make sure to bet responsibly and keep a watchful eye on your bankroll.

Note: All odds were correct at the time of writing.

Zach Edey over 10.5 rebounds (-132) at FanDuel

Edey has been on a rebounds tear in April, averaging 15.7 per game. During the month, he played 30.5 minutes per game and grabbed over 10.5 boards in 5-of-6 contests (83.33%).

The 7-foot-4 center, who towers over everyone, saw success against the Warriors two weeks ago when he secured 16 rebounds in 32 minutes and saw a whopping 24-rebound chances.

Since seeing 30.5 minutes per game at the start of April, the Purdue product has averaged 25.7 rebound chances per game.

Memphis ranks first in the league in pace (103.69), which gives them plenty of possessions and rebounding opportunities for their 2024 No. 9 overall pick.

Edey should see plenty of chances to feast again if he receives his recent healthy dose of minutes against a Warriors team that has allowed the third-most rebounds per game to opposing centers (16.29 per contest).

Three of the four games against Golden State that Edey took part in came down to single digits, and sportsbooks feature the Warriors as seven-point favorites. Edey should see the hardwood for plenty of time if the game remains competitive.

FanDuel’s odds of -132 for Edey to record over 10.5 boards is significantly better than other bookmakers putting him in the -140 to -167 range. BetRivers and bet365 expect him to do even better by listing his total at 11.5.

Onyeka Okongwu over 1.5 assists (-150) at bet365

The Hawks’ sixth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Okongwu, has enjoyed a career high in assists this year (2.3) and minutes (27.9).

Okongwu has played an even more significant role this season with Clint Capela and Jalen Johnson being sidelined.

Despite being undersized at 6-foot-8, the center is versatile and has averaged 2.5 assists, 4.2 potential assists and 33.3 minutes throughout his last 15 games.

During his past 10 outings, he’s actually played 34.2 minutes and has recorded over 1.5 assists in eight of them (80%).

Against Orlando a week ago, the USC product notched four assists. He’s 3-for-3 this season against the Magic in hitting this line and is averaging three assists against them.

The Hawks ended the campaign with the third-highest pace rating (103.41) in the NBA, leading to more possessions and assist opportunities for their offense.

For the year, Okongwu has hit over 1.5 assists in 66% of outings. In its last three games, Orlando has surrendered the eighth-most assists (25.3) per game across the league.

Orlando is listed as a five-point favorite on the spread, and if this game is neck and neck, as predicted by oddsmakers, Okongwu should continue to see heavy minutes.

All three contests Okongwu took part in between the Magic and Hawks were decided by seven points or fewer.

The -150 odds (60%) at bet365 hold are priced better than other bookmakers, featuring him in the -160 range, including DraftKings at -166 (62.41%).
