From August 2008 through September 2022, ESPN Streak, also known as “Streak For The Cash”, was a free-to-play daily contest where users attempted to accumulate the longest streak in a month by selecting the winning side of various sports matchups.

Unfortunately, Streak For The Cash is no longer available, but thankfully, we’ve found some alternatives with comparable services where you can win real money!

Confessions Of A Streak For The Cash Player

Streak For The Cash winners could receive monthly prizes, up to $25,000 to the longest streak holder and a $5,000 prize to whoever could amass the most total correct selections in a month.

I was one of these “Streakers”.

I started playing ‘Streak For The Cash’ not long after its launch, and I played it somewhat regularly all the way to its unceremonious demise.

‘Streak’ grew in popularity during my high school years, and in my most formative years, I’d dabble in ESPN’s free-to-play offering, looking to accumulate the longest streak or the most wins.

Some nights, I’d have a huge report due, or exams to study for, but I’d largely spend that time deciding who would win a Bundesliga match between Hamburger SV and Wolfsburg.

Knowing very little about Germany’s top soccer league, naturally I sided with Hamburger, and I won.

From that point on, I was frequently checking in to see what challenges ‘Streak’ had to offer.

“Will Phil Mickelson Birdie the Par 3 17th?

Sure. Why not?

“Who will win this NCAAF matchup: Pittsburgh Panthers vs. West Virginia Mountaineers?”

WVU, of course.

“Will Joe Flacco throw for 300 Yards?”

No! You run the football in Baltimore.

Long Streak But No Win

‘Streak’ was a free-and-easy game to play that could result in some monetary payouts, which I never won, but it was always something to satiate the prognosticator that lives deep inside each and every sports fan, like myself.

My longest streak was about 22 picks, which is pretty dang good. Although I came away without the cash, ‘Streak’ would occasionally give my pride a boost, as some amateur sports soothsayer.

Sites and Apps Like Streak For The Cash

While most sports fans have jumped into the sports betting and daily fantasy gaming space, there are a few alternatives to ‘Streak For The Cash’ that can give sports forecasters a wager-free gaming experience with a chance to win real money.

Some of these are social sportsbooks such as Sportzino, Fliff, and Thrillzz where you can win real money without investing funds.

Let’s get into it!

Fox Super 6

This super simple contest courtesy of Fox Sports allows users to compete for prizes against other Fox Sports fans to predict team and player performances in six questions to climb the leaderboard for their top prize.

Fox Super 6 offers different kinds of contests, including the NFL, College Football, NBA, MLB, College Basketball, NASCAR, and more!

If users correctly predict the answer to six questions and finish inside the top six, they’re eligible to win a prize.

Not every prize is a cash prize. Some prizes include VIP tickets, trips to special events and other sports-related memorabilia.

The weekly play of Fox Super 6 is great for sports gamers that like a quick, weekly turnaround.

Free Daily Fantasy Sports Contests

Daily Fantasy Sports operators, such as DraftKings and FanDuel offer free-to-play contests to ensure that any users can participate in their DFS action.

Not every free contest on DraftKings or FanDuel DFS will have a payout, but users can still find free entries with a chance to win real money, with potential payouts on free-to-play games occurring more commonly at the beginning of a season for a respective sport, such as the outset of the NFL, NBA, or MLB seasons.

There are plenty of satellite contests that users can enter where prizes are tickets into paid entries as well, which could lead to an opportunity to win real money in a typical DFS contest.

A great alternative for daily fantasy sports fans in the sweepstakes sector is OwnersBox. The brand focuses on MLB, NHL, NBA, and NFL, with Player Picks, Salary Cap, and Lightning Lineup options.

The brand utilizes a quality platform and ensures an exciting experience with unique contests for its members.

Beat The Streak

Since 2001, MLB.com has offered a free-to-play contest known as “Beat The Streak” and the challenge of the game is for users to select a hitter each day that they believe will get a hit.

If the user can collect a streak of 57 consecutive days, surpassing the all-time hit streak of New York Yankees’ Hall-of-Famer Joe Dimaggio, that user will receive a $5.6 million grand prize.

Fun Fact: After over two decades in existence, no one has ever won the grand prize.

“Beat The Streak” still provides other prizes in their contest, such as MLB.TV subscriptions, MLB Shop gifts, and a “Top Streak Prize” of $10,000 to the longest streak-holder at the end of a season.

This game takes just seconds to play, which is why I have been playing it religiously for over a decade.

Since nobody has ever won this game in its history, my hopes are low on being the first to do so, but it’s still a wildly entertaining chase.
