Whether we are discussing online sports betting or Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), the NFL normally comes up in the conversation.

This is because the NFL is the No. 1 sports market to bet on in the United States, while American football is the second most popular market to bet on globally.

The same could be said about the NFL’s popularity in the DFS spectrum as well.

Whether users are entering salary cap contests, pick’em style proposition games, or best ball markets, their primary focus is NFL contests.

At Underdog Fantasy, you can enter the NFL contests all year round. You may be wondering how since there is an NFL offseason.

Well, at Underdog Fantasy, you can enter the best ball fantasy football contests.

The best ball formats are set-it and forget-it leagues. Once you draft your team, you don’t need to worry about making any trades or waiver wire pick-ups.

You don’t even need to set a lineup.

Your optimal lineup is set every week with the players who scored the most points filling out your starting lineup.

At the end of the year, the teams with the most points will get paid.

This guide will review NFL markets at Underdog Fantasy in detail.

So if you are new to Underdog, have yet to join, or are already signed up but not quite sure how to enter the NFL contests at their unique DFS platform, then this guide is for you.

How To Enter NFL Contests At Underdog

There are two ways to enter the NFL contest at Underdog Fantasy.

However, before you can enter any contests, you must first sign up for a new account.

Signing Up For An Underdog Account

Signing up for a new Underdog account is easy.

You can go about it two different ways.

First, you must visit the Underdog Fantasy website or their app, which is available in both the Apple and Android app stores.

Then, you must begin and complete the registration process.

You will be prompted to enter a promo code during the sign-up process.

This is where you will use the code BESTODDS.

When you use this code, you will activate your new user welcome bonus at Underdog Fantasy.

The other way to sign up is by clicking on the “Play Now” button on this page.

When to click on this button, you will be redirected to Underdog Fantasy where your welcome bonus will already be activated.

All you need to do from here is complete the registration process and make your initial deposit to secure the bonus.

You do not need to enter a promo code by going this route.

Wagering Requirements For The Underdog NFL Promo

Once you get your bonus, before you can withdraw it, you’ll need to wager it a certain number of times—this is commonly known as the wagering/playthrough/rollover requirement.

Most daily fantasy sports sites may impose ludicrous wagering requirements, but this isn’t the case with Underdog Fantasy.

Simply put, after Underdog gifts you the bonus, you’ll need to risk it together with the initial deposit just once.

You can freely walk away with the bonus funds when you’ve satisfied this wagering requirement.

Since you aren’t restricted to specific contests, you can flexibly use the bonus funds in various ways.

Underdog Rules For Football

Before entering any best ball contest or entering a pick’em game, it would be wise for you to know the rules at Underdog Fantasy.

After all, while Underdog Fantasy is categorized as a DFS platform, it is vastly different than FanDuel or DraftKings in terms of contest types and formats.

So even if you are a seasoned DFS pro at one of those platforms, you may not know the rules for Underdog Fantasy’s contests.

And if you do not understand the rules, you will be putting yourself at a disadvantage out of the gate.

Underdog BestBall Contests

As mentioned earlier in this guide, best ball fantasy contests are set-it-and-forget-it formats.

You will draft your team and play against other fantasy managers. There is no roster management involved once the draft is over.

Contrary to your normal fantasy football formats, there is no waiver wire, lineup setting, or trades in best ball.

The results are solely based on your drafting skill set. You have two draft choices for best ball contests at Underdog Fantasy.

There are fast drafts with a 30-second timer and slow drafts with an eight-hour clock.

However, the closer we get to the NFL season, the hours will be shaved off the eight-hour click to ensure all rosters are filled out by Week 1.

Each week of the NFL season, your optimal lineup is set based on the players who scored the most points at each starting position.

For example, if you drafted five running backs, the two highest-scoring rushers will be inserted into your starting lineup since there are two running back spots to fill.

There is also a flex spot.

So if your third-highest scoring back out-scored your remaining wide receivers and tight ends, that running back will be inserted as your flex starter for that week.

Now that your optimal starting lineup is set, the total points will be accumulated and placed in your overall score for the year.

Every week, your score will be counted, and at the end of the season, the teams with the most points will win money, depending on the league size and contest type.

Underdog Daily Snake Drafts

During the NFL season, there are daily snake drafts at Underdog Fantasy.

These are similar to best ball drafts.

Only, instead of going for the duration of the season, daily snake drafts are correlated with slates.

For example, there are daily snake drafts for single games like Sunday Night Football.

There are also drafts for all of the Sunday games, the 1 p.m.ET games only, and so on.

Daily snake drafts have contest sizes between 3-12 users. Entry fees range from $3-$100. Per the “two-team rule,” you must have players from at least two teams on your roster.

You will also find single-game rosters at Underdog Fantasy. In single-game contests, the SuperFlex rule kicks in.

Rather than a quarterback spot, you will find a SuperFlex roster spot.

Here, you can choose to draft a quarterback or not draft one while filling that spot with another player from one of the other positions.

Underdog Pick’em

With Underdog Fantasy’s pick’em contests, you will be entering head-to-head style proposition games.

There are two different types of pick’em contests at Underdog Fantasy.

You will find Higher/Lower games and Rivals.

Here is an example of a Higher/Lower contest:

  • Ezekiel Elliott higher/lower 0.5 touchdowns

Users will choose either the lower or the under. You can pick up to five different player props at Underdog.

The more you get correct, the more money you can win in correspondence with your initial entry fee.

Here is an example of the Rivals contest:

Rivals contests are player proposition versus player proposition.

  • Will Ja’Marr Chase accumulate more receptions than Justin Jefferson?

Rivals player proposition versus player proposition contests may also feature a handicap, which is like a point spread.

  • Who will throw for more touchdowns? Kirk Cousins (+0.5) or Josh Allen?

Like higher/lower contests, you can pick up to five-player proposition versus player proposition options.

Again, the more you are correct, the more money you can win in multiplier format, depending on your entry fee.

NFL BestBall Tournaments At Underdog

If you want to cash in big, you can do so by entering an NFL-best ball tournament at Underdog Fantasy.

There is a multitude of tournaments to choose from at Underdog Fantasy relating to the NFL. The biggest one is BestBall Mania.

We have BestBall Mania III this year, which has a ridiculous $10 million prize pool.

Here are the details:

  • $25 entry fee
  • $2 million to first, $1 million to second, and so on.
  • The top 75,200 teams will get paid, with $35 being the lowest you can win
  • The prize pool is guaranteed even if the contest fails to fill
  • This is a best ball type format

Rounds:

  • Round 1 (NFL Weeks 1-14)
  • Round 2 (Week 15)
  • Round 3 (Week 16)
  • Round 4 (Week 17)

Teams will be eliminated by round. The highest-scoring team at the end of Week 17 will take home the $ 2 million.

There are many other NFL tournaments at Underdog Fantasy. Entry fees, contest size, and prize pools will vary.

So will the player pool. So be sure to check the rules before entering.
